Nape Nape

Nape Nape is a scenic reserve with beach, limestone cliffs and rock formations.

To get there drive over the suspension bridge at the mouth of the Hurunui river, continue on this unsealed road for about 6 kms. Turn left for Nape Nape which is about another 6 kms.

The vegetation includes a grove of Karaka trees, also Akeake and Kawakawa.

The beach is also well known as a surf casting beach as there is a long reef running along next to the beach. For this reason many species of fish are caught here. This is also a well know beach for skate.
